Project Description: Development of Concept and Construction plans for Chesapeake Utilities new corporate headquarters in Dover, Delaware. Specific emphases were made on development of courtyard layout and uses. Courtyard area consists of approximately 15,400 square feet surrounded on three sides with new building construction. Courtyard use menu included facilitation of connecting travel lanes of employees to various entrances fronting the courtyard; informal uses for employees (lunch meetings etc.), corporate functions (formal and informal) as well as display space for new product sponsors. Design elements included seat walls, fire pit gathering area, product display areas, plant beds and overhead canopy design. Once concept was chosen, construction documentation was implemented. Responsibilities included further refinement of approved concept, meetings with design committee, and formulation of primary approved plans. Construction documentation, including layout, grading, drainage, planting and materials plans were a responsibility. During construction; consultations with contractors and fine tuning construction documentation was on going.
